Coming together as a side project and recording their self titled debut Ep in 2014, a local momentum surrounded the Northern Beauties that eventually spilled out of Calgary’s walls with a breakout year in 2016. Carving their name into the Western Canadian music scene with a pair of awards, critical praise and a crowd savvy live show that brought them throughout parts of Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Best known for their melodies driven with big vocal harmonies, their anticipated sophomore album is set for release in March 2020.

Western Folk - a distinct, americana-infused contemporary sound that brings Frontman Stewarts hard won lyrics and true heart narratives to life. The second album takes the leap from local americana scenesters to accomplished songwriters and world class performers, largely built upon a busy touring schedule throughout 2016 & 2017. Recently Canadian Producer/Artist Steve Dawson worked with the group at the Hen House Studios in Nashville for a portion of their new album. During these sessions they recorded a version of Anne Murray’s Danny’s Song, adding to a list of new songs already recorded in Oct 2017 with long time Producer Shawn Cole. The band went back into the studio in Dec 2018 to complete the final tracks for the full length with Producer Erik Nielsen.

With appearances in Hamburg Germany at the Reeperbahn festival; the Calgary Folk Music Festival and Muskoka Ontario’s Sawdust City Music Festival, the band has been a constant stand out wherever they go. Their grassroots buzz brought Americana Music Publishing to the table (Colter Wall, The Dead South) with an exclusive publishing deal in 2017. With their presence firm in Western Canada, and an endearing live act, the Northern Beauties are establishing themselves as one of Canada’s Homegrown bands.
